The TSA now wants to sample people's drinks that they bought BEHIND the Groping Curtain. This makes absolutely no sense unless they are admitting by proxy that they are unable to maintain a secure area.
One would think that it would make more sense to concentrate on cargo, foodstuffs coming into the 'secure' part of the airport, etc. than to snag a highly overpriced beverage from already weary and violated travelers, especially without reimbursing them for the cost of the drink (did I mention how overpriced those things are??).
One tin-foil hat idea also occurs--random DNA collection without permission since they've already established that Fourth Amendment rights are abrogated at the entrance to the airport.
