Via Timebomb 2000 (ht: Middle of the Right): Congressman Massa absolutely says that he would vote against the wishes of his district if he believes that it would be best for them, despite what they might say about an issue.
Does he not realize that he has lost the frickin' plot?? He's not there to be a nanny, he's there to represent the wishes and interests of his constituency. This is a perfect example of what I've been saying in post after post. The folks that were elected to represent our interests in Washington, DC no longer do so. They have, for whatever reason, decided that they know what's best for the people of the United States and are acting as rulers, rather than as public servants. They don't represent, they dictate.
A quote has been running through my head for a couple of days from Star Wars: To paraphrase Princess Leia: "The more you tighten your grip, Obama and Democrat leaders, the more states will slip through your fingers."
