So what makes gay marriage so different?

Liberals  tend to tout the not-in-the-Constitution but much halliballoed separation of church and state for pretty much everything.  So what makes gay marriage different?  This should be a clear case of the government getting out of marriage, putting the license on a personal unit-establishing contract, and leaving sanctification to the churches to perform according to the tenants of that faith.

It would not matter as to the gender, sex, or number of the parties involved in the "family-contract" unit and as long s the proper paperwork was done, it shouldn't be an issue with insurance  or other legalities.

Feinsteins gun bill- a possible answer

Borepatch was wondering about why Reid decided not to bring la Feinstein's bill to the Senate floor.  I think I might have the answer...

The UN Arms Treaty   Dollar to dime the Dems are banking on this since it would make anything else moot-- per NRA civilian weapons would not be excluded.

Time to make those calls again - don't ratify that treaty, Senators.

So la Feinstein says that she felt 'patronized' by Cruz' questions yesterday and that he was being 'arrogant'.  But after watching the video again, she was the one being patronizing and arrogant--I think that's the reasoning behind 'I've been here blahblahblah so many years' commentary.  It's akin to 'Look youngster, shut your mouth and mind your elders'.

It's annoying to me when any female, when clearly bested on an intellectual level, falls back on feelings and emotions rather than being able to go toe-to-toe with someone in a real debate involving facts.  But of course I'm talking about a California Dem who really has no argument other than emotional charades.

Suck it up toots--if you want to be in the ring, best bring your intelligence and cogent arguments, if you have any, and leave your propensity to get the vapors at the door.  Name calling should have ended in sixth grade.

Seems like she would be happier if the Bill of Rights disappeared altogether

After Sen. Cruz's well thought out question, the only answer that Feinstein had was the usual emotional rhetoric, timed served in the public sphere, and 'well, we're leaving those bitter-clingers with SOME of their guns' (paraphrased loosely, of course).  And Sen Leahy deliberately tried to re-work the point that Sen Cruz was trying to make to cover for her.  She did basically say finally that Congress makes laws and it really doesn't matter if those laws meet any Constitutional litmus.

She has no interest in defending the Constitution, as she swore an oath to and so has clearly shown herself to be unfit for office.  I find it interesting that, for some reason, people seem to think that the amount of time that one's ass has sat in a specific chair or role is some approbation of service or sign of actual ability or knowledge rather than as a sign of entropy.

Please watch Sen Cruz take la Feinstein to the verbal cleaners.

Still not sure what she meant by imploding bullets.....

Why the Answer to the Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything....

.... will always be 42.  Because it's a perfectly reasonable answer to an extraordinarily difficult question.

Rest in Peace Douglas Adams on what would have been your 61st birthday.  I will always strive to have my towel with me at all times.
