Waste in the government

Okay, it's a given, but Old NFO has a bunch of stuff pulled from Sen. Tom Coburn's Wastebook 2011.  And I thought of this scene from the movie 'Dave' (embedding disabled so you'll have to follow the link).  So why can't the government catch a clue or figure out that all of these things are outside of the purview of the federal government and let them go??

Re-elect NO ONE!

Amen!
Not to be indelicate, but I'm tired of all these folks getting elected on the 'transparency' platform, then hiding stuff and latching on the the government teat!
Vote 'em ALL out!

Heinlein (I think, check with Mr. B) said that there isn't usually anything to vote for on Election Day, but there's always something to vote against. Like incumbents.

gfa--That's why the Dems haven't done a complete budget in three years. When everything is an emergency then it gives them ample opportunity for graft, secret deals, and any number of ways to screw the American people.

Don--Per Mr. B--It's in 'The Notebooks of Lazarus Long'. And you're right.

Because if they do, they lose power (and money coming in from Lobbyists)... Thanks for the link BTW!

NFO--More opportunities for graft by doing everything piecemeal.

Don--Also 'Time Enough for Love', per Mr. B.
