Text from my sister

The text reads  "Did we do anything in the 1980's other than watch movies?"  My response:  "We went to the roller rink and skated to the tune of YMCA.  Other than that, not much."

Here's a movie that embodies both.  I believe at the time, one critic referred to it as "Terpsichore on Roller Skates".

My favorite was not ELO, but ELP. And not "Xanadu", but "pictures at an Exhibition".

But both of those will give you a decent education, if you can use Google.

But thanks for posting this. I do have to say I have a latent crush on Olivia from 1980 or so. But then again, I am an old guy. No "creepy" remarks, please. She's older than I am ...

Borepatch--Quick check of the iPod (how weird looking for them on an iPod) says I've got ELP Works, Vol. 1--will have to get "pictures at an Exhibition".

Mr. B still has the same crush--no jokes here since I think we're all of an age and she's got 15+ years on all of us. :-)

Ah yes, Olivia... :-) Sadly I'm so deaf now, I can't even hear the high notes...

I love that movie. The first time I saw Xanadu (I was about 7 or 8, IIRC) I fell so head over heels for ONJ that I sent her a letter asking for an autographed picture. I got it, and still have it.

Lascivious Neutron Bomb, I remember her well. She was already creeping toward past her prime when she did the "Physical" video, but in those black spandex pants in "grease"? I woulda hit that like the Angry Fist of God. She still has the accent that makes me involuntatily take out my wallet.

ONJ fever seems to be an epidemic, even to this day.
